Mission Statement
To do unto others as we would have them do unto us. To offer the love and compassion of Christ to those who are unable to make it into the walls of the church to receive care, prayer, help, or healing. To provide NBC presence of encouragement and prayer to members during times of hospitalization, surgery, or extended illness.
Ministry Scripture
Matthew 25:40
"Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Responsibilities
The ministry provides a consistent visitation regiment with frequent follow-up on an as-needed basis. If members or non-members are sick, the ministry calls to see if they would like visitors whether home bound or hospitalized and visitations are limited to a short time period while offering prayer, and the reading of scripture to the individual in need. We offer follow-up with individuals and/or families every other week to see if additional assistance is needed. Prayer and support are provided for as long as the person is in need.
Expectations
Anyone desiring to be a servant in this ministry will need to possess a compassionate heart and be willing to make phone calls and visit the sick and shut-in. They should also be comfortable talking to, praying for, and reading scriptures to those in need when necessary. The spiritual gifts of Exhortation and Mercy are great assets to possess. (The length of service time is usually one year minimum).
Scheduled Meeting
There are specific trainings related to visitation scheduled to begin in January.
